Description
A bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) cable is used in a resectoscope to remove excess prostate tissue and treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in older men:
- Resectoscope:Â An endoscope that’s connected to the working element during TURP surgery
- Bipolar current:Â Used to resect tissue
- Saline:Â Used as an irrigant instead of water, which can reduce complications and allow for longer resection timesÂ
